Johanna W. Japin Baayen, President
Johanna is the founder of Baayen & Associates Limited. Her experience includes several years of appraising residential and commercial properties, designing and building several residential dwellings, ten years of teaching, and being one of the founders who established a shelter for women and children.
Hendrik Baayen, AACI, P.App, SRPA, PLE
Hendrik's extensive financial experience includes 10 years in commercial mortgage underwriting, and 10 years in real estate investment. He has been appraising I.C.I. properties as an independent fee-appraiser since 1982. He has also given expert witness testimony in Superior Court, Ontario Municipal Board, and arbitration hearings. His term as President of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, Ontario Association, ended October 19, 1997.
Karel W. Baayen, B.Sc., AACI, P.App
Karel was the chair of the Peterborough-Lindsay chapter of Appraisal Institute of Canada. He has been active in appraising both residential and commercial properties since 1988 and has appeared as expert witness in General Court, Ontario Municipal Board and arbitration hearings.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (geology major) and has five years residential construction experience. A member of both the Peterborough and Cobourg-Port Hope Real Estate Boards, Karel recently served as a member of the Commercial Policy Review Committee of Peterborough.
Arend G. Baayen, CRA
Arend has been appraising residential, farm, and I.C.I. properties since 1987. He also has five years of residential construction experience.
Patricia Tran, Appraiser
Patricia has been appraising residential and farm properties since 1989. She also has six years of experience in building and managing investment properties, as well as five years in selling real estate.
Friederike A. Baayen, B.A. Appraiser
Friederike is a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and is currently working towards her AACI designation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and has completed level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analysts program.
She has extensive experience in the Securities Industry as an Investment Advisor specializing in Oil and Gas Research and Analysis. In addition, she was a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Investment Analysts for 7 years, serving as Co-Vice president during her last year of membership.
John Mackie, CBV, PLE
John has over 25 years of municipal tax consulting experience, including appeals at the highest level. He was an investigator with Dunn & Bradstreet and a special investigator with Revenue Canada doing business valuations and financial analysis.
He trained and articled with the American Appraisal Company, the largest appraisal company in the world. He specialized in Canadian Property Tax for over 25 years. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, Association of Professional Land Economist and International Institute of Valuers.
